NoiseFilter Animated Video Series

Client: NoiseFilter

Humor, storytelling, and two infectious disease experts explaining deep but important medical concepts — NoiseFilter has it all! Friends and hosts Dr. MarkAlain Dery, an infectious disease physician, and Dr. Eric Griggs (Doc Griggs), a community health specialist, brought their engaging podcast talk show and livestream to a new medium — animation.

In fall 2021, FableVision and NoiseFilter collaborated on a new animated series that supports NoiseFilter in its mission to reduce health disparities and achieve health equity. The first animation in the series aims to provide healthcare workers and the general public with an easy way to understand and discuss COVID-19 and mRNA vaccines. With the help of science, jokes, and punk rock spike proteins, animated versions of Dr. Dery and Doc Griggs detail how COVID-19 makes people sick, how mRNA vaccines work, and how antibodies fight Coronavirus.

After the success of the first video, more followed to help the doctors break down complex science topics into digestible pieces of information. Episode 2 showcases the science behind COVID-19 mRNA booster shots and episodes 3, 4, and 5 explain HIV and HIV medications. Two videos showcase the importance of clinical trials, the underrepresentation of minority groups in them, and testimonies from participants. NoiseFilter also released three official musical PSAs about testing for and treating Hepatitis C, getting pediatric vaccines, and wearing masks. More videos are on the way.

The animated shorts are available on NoiseFilter’s website, YouTube channel, and throughout the doctors’ local New Orleans community.
