Quandary

Client: Learning Games Network

Seeking to turn their idea for an online card game that could teach children ethics into a reality, Learning Games Network came to FableVision for help with the process. The final version of the game features 13 characters—12 settlers and the captain. The player, in the role of the captain, must read through each settler’s viewpoint on an ethical dilemma and come to the best decision for the community. Teachers have used Quandary in the classroom to teach a number of problem solving and comprehension skills. The game is also available for private use at home.

On the heels of winning Game of the Year at the 2013 Games for Change Festival, a Silver Medal in Education at the Serious Play Awards, and a Gold Award from the Parents' Choice Foundation, FableVision made the game available as a free tablet app through iTunes and the Google Play store. In the app, players can customize their own colonist.
